Requirements and responsibilities for compliance – Identifying requirements and responsibilities for compliance regarding laws concerning the Health & Safety at Work Act 1974. Also, creating a company health & safety policy and the importance of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
Risk assessment – Laws concerning risk assessment (Regulation 3 of The Management of Health and Safety at Work Regulations 1999), identifying hazards, evaluating the risk, recording findings, and reviewing assessments.
Reporting accidents and injuries in the workplace – Reporting Injuries, Diseases and Dangerous Occurrences Regulations (RIDDOR) and a guide to submitting a report.
First aid provision – Employers’ obligations to the The Health and Safety (First-Aid) Regulations 1981, and the First-Aid box recommendations.
Manual handling – Employers’ and employees’ awareness of the Manual Handling Operations Regulations 1992, and conducting a manual handling assessment before a lift.
