Working at Heights

working at heights

Duration: 20 – 30 min

In the 5 year period between 2013/14 and 2017/18, falls from height were the biggest cause of work fatalities – 26% (an average of 37 fatal injuries a year), and were also responsible for 8% of non-fatal injuries in 2017/18.

This means that from ladders to scaffolding, there are many regulations in place to protect those working at heights, notably in the construction industry. This includes sufficient training, safety precautions, and the obligations and responsibilities of both employers and employees.
